Ice cream social this evening at the museum

Just a reminder that the Lucas County Historical Society will play host to an ice cream social this evening at the museum, 123 North 17th St., in Chariton.

All of the buildings --- Stephens House, Lewis Building, Puckerbrush School, Otterbein Church, Pioneer Cabin, Pioneer Barn and Bill Marner Blacksmith Shop --- will be open for tours from 5:30 until 7 p.m.

We'll be serving ice cream sourced from Chariton's Double Dip as well as popcorn and ice water on the patio until 7 p.m., when tours will end and Tyler and Alesha Urich will take to the stage (in this case the big north door of the barn facing the patio) to perform classics, oldies and Broadway songs for your entertainment.

It should be a pleasant evening on the shady patio and you're invited. Everything is free!
