I've read several media think pieces and reflections from social media friends this morning --- the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 --- looking for clarity. And found the usual mix --- sputtering anger, thoughtful reflection, aggrandized 10-cent philosophizing. But no clarity.
Solemn reflection probably is best.
So I did a little of that while reading through a review headlined "The Photographs of 9/11" that associates the thoughts of New York Times photographers, honored with a 2002 spot news Pulitzer for their coverage, with the images they took. I'd recommend it.
