The scripts for next Sunday's 19th annual Chariton Cemetery Heritage Tour are done --- at last. The fifth and final was a challenge in large part because the subject left behind so few people to tell his stories.
But now it's done --- and I'll be off shortly to the museum for our fall open house this morning.
It's a busy Homecoming weekend in Chariton, so attendance is likely to be down --- but we wanted to hold it today in case some of those in town for reunions might wish to stop in.
There will be hot cider and doughnuts from Piper's and an opportunity to tour the various buildings.
If you can't make it today, the museum remains open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday through the end of October. Then hours switch to a three-day schedule, Tuesday-Thursday, until spring.
