Back in August, I wrote a little about a film that had just premiered on Prime in a post headlined, A salute for "Red, White, and Royal Blue."
Based on the 2019 best-seller of the same title by Casey McQuiston, the somewhat over the top but amusing film (and book) focus on the imaginary relationship between Alex Claremont-Dias (portrayed by Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of Ellen Claremont (Uma Thurman), first woman to win the presidency of the United States, and Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine), the "spare," brother to the heir apparent to the British throne.
The book, because of its focus on a gay relationship, has been banned from school libraries in Iowa and elsewhere.
Anyhow, the Library of Congress published online at YouTube last week an interview with McQuiston that had been recorded just before the film premiered as she presented copies of the book to the library for inclusion in its LGBTQ+ archive.
It's always fun to see an author in action like this and I enjoyed the interview, especially her remarks on censorship. Perhaps you will, too, if you follow this link: "Red, White & Royal Blue" with Author Casey McQuiston.
