As you might expect, I've been watching the Trooping the Colour ceremony live from London this morning on the Royal Family channel so as not to miss the appearance by Queen Elizabeth II and her first-cousin, Edward Duke of Kent, on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
I'm told that Her Majesty is wearing an Angela Kelly ensemble consisting of a dusky dove blue Charmelaine wool dress embellished with pearl and diamante trim around the neckline and cascading down the front of the coat --- with matching hat.
The four-day celebration of the queen's Platinum Jubilee commences today and continues through Sunday across the United Kingdom.
We all need a good dose of pomp and circumstance about now and I'm grateful to the Brits for providing it. The possibility remains that the American Revolution was a grave mistake.
