The Youngbloods' "Get Together"

Well, I bit off more than could be conveniently chewed yesterday so that post will have to wait a day. Instead, here's the song that's been running in my head this morning --- as appropriate now as in was back in 1967 when it became the "one-hit wonder" of a folk rock group called the Youngbloods.

Written in the early 1960s by Chet Powers (performing name, Dina Valenti), it seems to have been recorded first by the Kingston Trio, but gained little traction.

Recorded during 1967 by the Youngbloods, it took off --- and became part of the soundtrack of the Vietnam War era for me and for many others. Here's a version. Peace and love to one and all on what promises to be a beautiful Tuesday morning.
