You're invited to join us this evening between 6 and 9 p.m. for Art at the Museum, an event featuring 18 area artists and their work on the Lucas County Historical Society Museum campus, 123 North 17th Street.
This is a joint project of the historical society and the Lucas County Arts Council and since it supplements the society's annual summer ice cream social, free ice cream will be served in the Pioneer Barn during the event, too. Admission's free.
The artists will be scattered around the campus, many inside or just outside our historic buildings; others on the lawn. Some will be demonstrating their techniques, others just displaying, but all will be prepared to talk about their creative endeavors. Some may have work for sale --- but that's a matter left entirely up to the artists.
Will Ghormley, whose medium is leather, will bring along his Cowboy Billy persona as well as his harmonicas, and will be prepared to provide a little entertainment and tell some tall tales of the old West for children of all ages.
The Rev. Felix Onoura, who retired recently from Sacred Heart Parish, may offer performance art, too, in addition to work in other media --- so we're looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
Here's a complete list of the artists: Ange Altenhofen, Sharla Anderson, Susan Baer, Kay Brown, Ashley Carroll, Nash Cox, Terry Cox, Steve Gibson, Will Ghormley, Jason Hendricks, Megan Narber, Felix Onoura, Meg Prange, Steve Scott, D.J. Sponsler, Sharon Wilhite, Kathy Willets and Jamie Wilson.
