I'm a "ditch lily" loyalist, fond of old Hemerocallis fulva even though many scorn its ubiquitous orangeness.
But you've got to admit that these daylily varieties, now blooming in the museum flower bed, are fairly spectacular.
It's a little disingenuous to quote Matthew 6:28 in their regard --- a good deal of human labor went into creating all of these hybrid varieties.
But still ....
