Typed fingers to the bone yesterday on a longer-term project, so didn't get around to thinking much about anything appropriate to write about today, on the occasion of another birthday --- gratefully acknowledged.
So I rounded up the snapshot at left, taken after I'd been around a little while, on the front porch of Granddad's house out by Williamson Pond.
And a little background music --- on CD.
Here, courtesy of YouTube, is the lead song from Nanci Griffith's 1993 "Other Voices, Other Rooms," with a little harmony by Emmylou.
The album featured pieces by other songwriters who had influenced Griffith's career, in this case Kate Wolf.
Too melancholy? Not at all.
Is the one that comes between
The edge of night and the break of day
It's when the darkness rolls away."
Indeed it is.
