More good news --- Democrats' narrow margin in the Iowa Senate held! That should keep an anti-equality marriage amendment to the Iowa Constitution off the ballot, thanks to Mike Gronstal (above), who won re-election and will continue as Senate majority leader.
Considering recent trends, it's likely voters would reject such an amendment in the long run. But we would have to endure a devisive and hateful years-long process before voters spoke. Besides, churches that otherwise would have invested in inequality now can consider other options --- feeding the hungry, maybe? Clothing the poor. Oh, you know ....
