So the search for wisdom this fine Sunday morning turned up this --- a lesson from Stan Rushworth, who taught Native American Literature and other subjects at Cabrillo Community College, Aptos, Calif., until retirement --- about three decades.
Rushworth also is an author, his most recent (2022; edited with Dahr Jamail): "We Are the Middle of Forever: Indigenous Voices from Turtle Island on the Changing Earth."
There certainly are other things that could be meditated on today. The Des Moines Register has a long piece about the struggle many Iowa families are facing to find treatment options in other states for their transgender children, for example.
And then there's that paragon of conservative values (and South Dakota governor) Kristi Noem who, it now appears, has been engaged in a long-running extramarital affair with the former Donald Trump's advisor, Corey Lewandowski.
