Historical Society annual meeting Tuesday

So I've been working during the last week on the program for this year's annual membership meeting of the Lucas County Historical Society, scheduled for Tuesday evening, April 18, at the C.B.&Q. Freight House in Chariton.

We're planning a (very) brief business meeting at 6:30 p.m., then after a break the program will begin at 7 p.m. After that, we'll serve pie and coffee. All are welcome to attend, member or not.

The annual meeting of the Lucas County Historical Society board was held last Tuesday and at that time, Steve Bright and Teresa Lahart were added to the 15-member board that governs the society, replacing veteran board member Bob Ulrich, who is retiring after many years of service, and Dan Minkoff, who decided not to seek another term.

Others elected to three-year terms last Tuesday were Frank Myers, Jim Secor and Mike Smith. Officers for 2023-24 will be Myers, president; Adam Bahr, vice-president; Kylie Dittmer, treasurer; and Molly Spoon, secretary.

The other board members are Nash Cox, Barry Foust, Ray Meyer, Joe Sellers, Jennifer Snook-Hall, Helen Thompson and Linda Braida.

Hopefully, the program will be of interest. If you can't make it Tuesday, I'm willing to bet it will appear here, in the Lucas Countyan, before long, too.
