Retired teachers --- and fall flowers ...

It was good to have members of the Lucas County Retired Teachers Association back on the museum campus Monday for their September meeting --- in Puckerbrush School, with sack lunches (and killer pumpkin bars provided by Marcia Fenton). COVID-19 derailed this annual tradition last year.

Now if it just would be possible come spring to bring an elementary-level class or two back to the museum for a morning during early May .... We'll just have to wait and see.

Jane Beatty is chair of the association this year. Next week, Oct. 6-7, the Lucas County association will be among the hosts for the statewide annual meeting of the retired teachers at Honey Creek Resort. So they've got a busy week ahead.

Elsewhere on the museum campus, as late summer turns to fall, the lantanas and garlic chives are in full bloom --- a little end-of-the-season color.
