I set out this morning to find a little Eastern wisdom for these troublesome times after locating an old photo of my living-room Buddha on a rare outing.
That's harder than you might think. Every inspirational quote under the sun has been attributed at one point or another to the great man.
But then I located Real Buddha Quotes and discovered that this one can be verified, described as a fairly accurate translation of Verse 223 of the Dhammapada.
So here it is. The first three recommendations are challenging; the fourth shouldn't really be a problem for any of us. And it certainly would be useful at this point in U.S. history.
