Joe Biden's nomination & that rainbow coalition

Yes, I'm a member of that "liberal mob" that Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) has been referring to in commercials lately, but no, I haven't been glued to a device during the last couple of days, watching the virtual version of my beloved Democrats' national convention. Instead, I've watched some parts, read news accounts of others and viewed some the next day on replay.

Loved Michelle Obama's speech, probably will watch President Obama's today. But so far my favorite segment has been the delegate vote to nominate Joe Biden, beautifully orchestrated clips from all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and various territories featuring the rainbow coalition that makes up the Democratic party.

And then there was security guard Jacquelyn's nomination of Biden, seconded by others. And how about Judy and Dennis Shepard, parents of Matthew, casting Wyoming's votes?

This is the emerging face of a United States that has a place for everyone of good will with a stake in the future of a great nation --- a face that frightens devotees of Donald Trump and causes his followers to invent scare mythologies like "liberal mob."

Here's a clip featuring the nomination vote in full. I may watch it again.
