Guns, Bruce MacKinnon, Jesus, &tc.

I posted a version of this cartoon, appropriate for a Sunday morning in the U.S. of A., last week without attribution on Facebook.

The creator is Bruce MacKinnon, editorial cartoonist for the Chronicle Herald of Halifax, Nova Scotia. And that needs to be pointed out.

Editorial cartoonists once upon a time were staples of aspirational newspapers, including several in Iowa. The Register employed an awesome string --- J.N. "Ding" Darling, Frank Miller, Brian Duffy --- until deciding that it needed to do something to remain relevant in the digital age and commenced to slash staff and downsize.

Here's another of MacKinnon's cartoons from the last week or so.

"How dare he?" you may ask, followed up by, "Well, if you like Canada so much, why don't you move there?" Well, I'd think about it if I were far younger, far more affluent and it wasn't colder up there than it is in Iowa.

It's been a good week for memes, too --- although these are almost impossible to track down. Here's one I liked, also appropriate for a Sunday morning in Iowa. Thanks to my Facebook friend who shared.
