End-of-summer bouquets

The last of high summer blew out of here overnight on light winds. It was chilly, seriously, when I went out early to gather flowers for church. I though about putting on a long-sleeved shirt. Naaah ...

It got even better after that --- beautiful cool, clear, blue-skied and crisp. Gorgeous light --- a sure sign fall isn't far off. I could not stay inside.

for you --- gathered with the camera this afternoon at the prairie remnant just east of Derby, high up on the embankments which enclose it and complete with rusty barbed wire.

Tonight's predicted low is 47. Highs in the 70s for the balance of the week. No rain in the forecast. I'll pull up the covers tonight and sleep well.
