We used gas powered portable generators for electricity and it was awesome. To all of us who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s it was affectionately known as “wet foot”. You could have parties or “kegs” at wet foot and because of the terrain and single long drive access - if any uninvited official visitors showed up, first - you could see them coming, and second, everyone would run across the swinging cable bridge to get to the south sid rod the spillway- and since it always hung 4” below the water level of the lake- this the term “wet foot”.

The class of 1988, when seniors would get released a week early before graduation, went in mass to the dam area and set of a gypsy camp and spent the whole week together before graduating. Still a great memory. Those old 70/80s station wagon really camp in handy.MD Sibert Class of 1988https://www.blogger.com/profile/12158707073742938289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12631722.post-87578836338466942262014-11-17T13:31:46.545-06:002014-11-17T13:31:46.545-06:00Frank-I grew up in Chariton in the 40's and 50...Frank-I grew up in Chariton in the 40's and 50's, had at least four generations of family farming just East of Williamson and I only recently heard of the Williamson Pond.
